 Dr.
Scott Smith, Managing Partner
attended North Texas State University from 1979-1983, majoring
in Biology and Philosophy. He was accepted to the University
of Texas Health Science Center Dental School at San Antonio
in 1983 where he graduated in the top 10% of his class. Passing
up several post-graduate speciality programs, Dr. Smith began
his own private practice in 1987. From 1987- 2000, it averaged
25-30 new patients per month and reached $750,000 in annual
sales. In the year 2000 he remodeled the practice, made significant
technological upgrades and launched an aggressive marketing
campaign. Buttercup Dental grew even faster with an astounding
70-100 new patients per month and annual sales reaching $1.5
million, despite the economic downturn of 1999. As Buttercup
Dental approached its capacity, Dr. Smith built his next location
using the same business model. Both continue to generate profits
and grow exponentially.
Dr. Darrell Park, Partner
 graduated
from Brigham Young University in 1998 with a degree in Botany
and is a 2002 graduate of the University of Texas Health Science
Center in San Antonio Dental School where he was one of the
top producers in both the junior and senior year and was recognized
for excellence in clinical dentistry. In his first year out
of school in private practice working at Buttercup Dental
he produced $480,000 working 4 days a week. Dr. Park continues
his desire for excellence in dentistry by attending quality
continuing education courses and frequently sharing ideas
with other dentists on www.dentaltown.com. He is a member
of the Texas Dental Association, Capital Area Dental Society
and the American Dental Association.
Jorge A. Gutierrez, Partner
 is
an Attorney and Certified Public Accountant. He is a 1973
graduate of Texas Tech University and a 1977 graduate of The
University of Texas School of Law. He is a former General
Counsel to the Texas Treasury Department and Texas Banking
Department. In addition, he is a member of the Advisory Board
for J.P. Morgan Chase Bank of Austin. His private business
practice is also based in Austin, Texas.
